1. Permission

1.1. Researchers from outside the World Centre (including relatives of World Centre staff) require the authorization of the Universal House of Justice to have access to Library and Archival materials.

1.1.1. Application should be made directly to the Universal House of Justice rather than to individual Library or Archives staff members.

        2. Library guidelines

            2.1. Researchers and readers must follow the directions and instructions of the staff of the Library.

            2.2. Food and drink are not to be consumed while consulting materials; nor in the office premises.

            2.3. Photocopying of Library materials will be performed by Library staff.

            2.4. Photocopying of entire books is discouraged.

            2.5. Staff members are unable to undertake detailed research on behalf of researchers.

            2.6. Library books are not loaned out to individual researchers, and must be examined on the Library premises.

            2.7. Readers may select materials they wish to read from the [Online Public Access Catalogue or the]
            card catalogue; this material will be retrieved and shelved by Library staff.

            2.8. The maximum number of books that may be requested at one time is five.

            2.9. Books will be witheld at the discretion of the Librarian under the following circumstances:

                a. Where the Universal House of Justice has placed special restrictions on access
                    to certain classes of material;
                b. Where a published item is found to be in such poor state of repair as to preclude
                   its being handled by researchers;
                c. Where the researcher has shown himself unable to abide by the guidelines set
                   out herein.

            2.10 Readers must not lean on Library materials, or write on them, or take tracings from them, or subject
            them to unnecessary handling.
