FTP SERVER

Protocol)
On 7 April 1994, the Universal House of Justice approved the announcement to
various electronic forums of the creation of an FTP site to which would be
posted a selection of the Writings of the Founders of the Bahá'í Faith as well
as other documents to be decided on from time to time. The primary object of
the FTP was to provide publishers and individuals with the authoritative texts
of the major works for use within the limits of the copyright statement given
on the site. This announcment was followed up on 31 May 1994, with a letter to
all National Spiritual Assemblies regarding the creation and initial use of the
FTP site.
Due to the great variety of ways in which word-processing software handles
diacriticals, it was decided to use plain ASCII text with a special character
indicating which words previously contained diacritical, so that the user could
use their word processor's own search and replace system to place the
diactritical back into the text. As greater flexibility in software develops
it is expected that fully formatted texts including diacriticals will be made
available as time allows. Fuller explanations are available in the various

The Summons of the Lord of Hosts,a newly published
collection of Tablets of Bahá'u'lláh was uploaded in a compressed
(Winzip) Word 2000® format with supported fonts imbedded, and a compressed (Winzip) Html
format.
