1. INTRODUCTION

The Bahá'í World Centre Library is responsible for building and administering the collections of books, periodicals, pamphlets, other published materials and non-print materials in their varied locations for two main purposes:

1.1. To provide information needed by the Universal House of Justice, the International Teaching Centre, World Centre departments and ancillary institutions in their work. This encompasses the reference library of the Universal House of Justice, the reference library of the International Teaching Centre, and smaller collections of World Centre departments.

1.2. To develop a research collection on the history, doctrines and growth of the Bahá'í Faith.
