These files are direct copies of the files as they previously existed on the FTP server.  Some of the more technical FTP files and explanations are not entirely necessary if the files are downloaded from this HTTP server.

However, please do see the copyright pages first

This FTP server provides the latest authorized versions of
a wide range of Baha'i texts in a variety of formats. Translation
revisions and other corrections will be incorporated as they
become available. Successive versions of these documents reflect
     corrections of minor typographical errors.

Initially, most of the texts are English in compressed ASCII
format. Other languages and formats will be installed as they
     become available.

Within the limits of the copyright notice, these files are
     available to everyone.

The etext files have been created and proofread by volunteers.
Some have been reviewed only superficially, while others have
been checked systematically. Users are encouraged to report
potential errors to the Etext Manager. It will be most helpful
to use complete file names, which include a revision number (see
README.NAMES), whenever files are referenced in correspondence.
